Aloha,
I am Dionne! I currently live in Houston with my husband George. We have two beautiful Weimaraners.
I have always had a love for Weimaraners! In 2004, Qaweyy my first Weim came into my life and I quickly found that I had a passion for training. I started helping friends and family with their own dogs, teaching Obedience.
Shortly after we moved to Texas, Qaweyy passed away and Keoki & Kalani Kai came into our lives. With Keoki’s love for the water, we stumbled upon dock diving. Kalani decided she wanted to play as well…
She liked the sport but I could feel she was only doing it for me. It wasn’t her thing. Don’t get me wrong she was great at it earning titles and invites to NADD Regionals.
In January 2021 we started our Scent Work Training. I immediately saw a shift in her energy. This was her JAM!! Upon my initial Scent work training, I discovered the bond it created with Kalani Kai, thus my love for the sport began to flourish.
I realized the importance of a solid foundation. I began participating in seminars and webinars presented by leading trainers to sharpen my training skills. I have attended classes with Cameron Ford, The Fenzi Academy, and Holly Bushard.

Team Kalani started trialing in UKC Nose Work in April 2021 and is currently finishing up her Elite Nose Work Title. We started our AKC Scent Work in Oct 2021 and are just short of earning our Master Scent Work Title.
After hours of training, videoing, reviewing, reworking, and re-evaluating practice sessions as well as competitions, Team Kalani was rewarded by winning First Place, Excellent Level Division, and the Midwest Regional Champion Odor Division Excellent Level at the AKC Midwest Regional Championship held in Northwest, Indiana. Team Kalani will be going to the 2023 AKC Scent Work Nationals!

I have demonstrated that a team’s success in any dog sport is achieved by the handler learning to read, understand, and trust their dog. My goal is to help you and your dog become ONE as a successful team.
 As my mentor, Holly Bushard, always says, “Clarity is Kindness.”
I am true to that spirit, true to the sport, and true to my training!
